Dianthus chinensis 'Black and White Minstrals'

This is a heirloom dating back to the 1800's china pink (chinensis) variety. It has fully double dark maroon/black with lacy white edged petals with a nice scent. grows 30cm/12". Brilliant as a cut flower in small vases or makes a fantastic buttonhole. Flowers June until autumn.

Dianthus love to be planted in free draining alkaline to neutral soils in a nice sunny spot.

Please note that Dianthus chinensis are not generally as hardy as garden pinks and we therefore recommend that you treat these plants as annuals or give them protection over winter.

This plant is grown by us at our nursery & supplied to you in a 10cm pot, fully rooted & ready to plant straight out into your garden. Please note that this is NOT a plug plant, in this size of pot there is NO need for you to re pot it & grow it on in a green house.
